Home :)

After 9 months in Norwood, MA, my family and I have returned to Houston, TX. We're happy to be back. We both value our time in Massachusetts, but, as the saying goes, there's no place like home.

Our house is slowly but surely getting back in order. We spent the first week after our arrival doing home improvements (hanging ceiling fans, replacing light fixtures, painting, etc.). Then, just when we thought things were getting back in order, our things from Norwood arrived. Who knew we took that much stuff with us.

After about a week of unpacking, we're finally starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. We held a garage sale last Saturday to try to make room in our closets for everything. A friend of mine also helped me floor our attic, giving us enough room up there to move some less frequently used things. We still have a way to go, but I think we'll get there.

Amber and the twins are doing well. We're frantically working to get things ready for their arrival. We've been lucky enough to get a lot of things for free. Our neighbors gave us an unneeded crib. We've gotten some hand-me-down clothes from some people. We've been told that we're getting a 2 seater stroller from my in-laws as a gift. If you don't have kids, all of this stuff adds up, so we're thankful to be getting it.

Tegan couldn't be more excited to be home. She loves having kids her age to play with again. We just about can't keep her in the house. Periodically throughout the day, she goes to the front door, reaches out here hand, and says, "Walk?". She knows the names of all of our neighbors' kids. She obsessed with balls, especially the medium sized bouncing balls you always see at Wal-Mart or the grocery store.

I'm getting settled back in at work. I'm already pretty involved on two projects, with more potentially on the way later this year. My role is slightly different than any that I've played in the past, so I'm finding it interesting. Stressful, but interesting.

All in all, things are going well. We've mostly been busy waiting for the babies to arrive (hurry up and wait, right?). I'll try to do a better job of updating the blog regarding the status of the babies. Amber has an appointment next Friday, so perhaps I'll publish another post shortly after that. Until then...

I am glad that things are calming down before they get crazy. It was great seeing you. Miss you all.
